Dress Code

All female dancers are required to wear a leotard and tights to class.

Specific shoe requirements are also required (below).

Leotards: It is very important for dance teachers to see the dancer's bodies at work. The students must wear a leotard that is form fitting and flexible.  Bra top and booty shorts are acceptable (with tights) for all classes except ballet.

Tights: Tights are worn to protect the legs from scrapes and burns that can occur from shoes or the floor and keep the muscles warm to prevent injury. (Pantyhose are not acceptable)

BOYS: A t-shirt and shorts or flexible pants are appropriate attire.

Shoes: Appropriate shoes (including specified color) are required. Attention should be paid to the proper fit, as loose fitting shoes can cause injury, and those that are out-grown can cause improper development of the bones.

Hair: Hair must be secured away from the face in a bun for ballet classes and a bun or a ponytail for all other classes.

Tumbling class: (Girls) Bra top with booty shorts or leotard with conversion or stirrup tights (barefoot)

Hip Hop: For class - Please wear CLEAN NEW sneakers to class. Dirty/used sneakers are not allowed on the dance floors. We will chose specific matching shoes for recital in late fall/early winter.

Please do not buy your dancer's shoes without checking with their teacher for requirements. Idols Dance Company will sell shoes and tights to offer a one-stop option for parents and dancers.

On occasion shoe color needs to be changed for the recital performance in June.
